What is the reason for the high noise of air source heat pumps and how to solve it?

Air source heat pump products have now developed into household energy-saving appliances. Whether it is heating or hot water supply, it has become indispensable in people's lives. However, many users who have installed air source heat pump units have reported that the units are noisy. What is the reason? How to solve it?

1. Reasons for the high noise of air source heat pumps:

The start-up and operation of the compressor, the operation of the motor, the wind sound generated by the fan blades, the vibration of the unit, etc.; through the test of the practice room, the noise of the unit is generally 43~68 decibels when working, which is noise pollution at night, so when we choose the installation site, we should try to stay away from the bedroom or living place.

2. Solutions to reduce the noise of air source heat pumps

1. Set the working time period of the air source heat pump unit to avoid affecting the rest at night. If the working time is short, the unit configuration should keep up.

2. Install the air source heat pump unit in the basement (ventilation), on the roof or away from the bedroom.  Install the air source heat pump unit away from the bedroom or where people live. If it is close to the bedroom or where people live, try to install a soundproof wall or machine room. Of course, if the machine room is installed, the ventilation effect must be guaranteed.

3. The compressor is wrapped with soundproof cotton, and the spring shock absorber is installed on the base of the air source heat pump unit. The effect is general; a soundproof screen is installed between the unit and the room, but the ventilation around the unit must be guaranteed. The room is equipped with a soundproof window, and the effect will be better.

4. Check whether the air source heat pump unit is installed smoothly, whether the screws are loose, and whether the main unit vibrates.

5. Try to choose motors and fans of good quality, and try to minimize the noise at the source.

6. Air sound treatment Air sound insulation is relatively easy in terms of pump group noise control. The air sound generated by the pump group generally does not exceed 85dB (A), and the pump group is separated from the owner's room by at least one floor. Generally, the airborne sound insulation of 120mm cast-in-place concrete is greater than 52dB, which is quite beneficial for isolating the airborne sound of the pump group. However, the country now has stricter requirements for the indoor sound environment, so if the pump group is separated from the owner by one floor, special treatment is required for sound insulation. Common methods include adding sound insulation cover, sound insulation ceiling, indoor sound absorption, etc.

7. System vibration isolation Pump group system vibration isolation generally uses vibration isolators. If the vibration of the pump group is relatively strong, the floating floor method is preferred, because the floating floor has a better vibration reduction effect and a wider frequency band that can play a vibration reduction role.

8. Pipeline vibration isolation treatment The pipe connected to the pump group adds (replaces) rubber soft connections. Generally, the soft connection is short in length and poor in elasticity, resulting in unsatisfactory overall vibration isolation effect. After replacement, the vibration isolation effect will be significantly increased. The soft connection should be connected to a professional vibration isolation product with good vibration isolation performance, long length and corrosion resistance.

9. Pipe support for vibration reduction treatment. Generally, the connection between the pipe support and the ground is hard-linked, which causes the vibration of the pipe to be transmitted to the building structure. Doing a good job of vibration reduction under the support can better prevent the vibration energy from being transmitted to the building structure.

10. Pipe wall treatment. Generally, the pipe and the wall are hard-connected. A considerable part of the energy of the pipe vibration is transmitted to the building structure, so the pipe and the wall should be disconnected to prevent the transmission of energy.

11. Pipe damping sound insulation wrapping. The vibration noise of the pipeline is high, and the vibrating air sound will also affect the residents. Therefore, the pipeline should be comprehensively damped and sound-insulated. On the one hand, it can reduce the vibration of the pipeline, and on the other hand, it can also play the role of isolating the air sound.

In general, the air source heat pump is noisy when it is running. When we use it, we can improve it through the outside world, such as building a machine room and a soundproof wall; the unit itself has good silencing measures; for some special places, we can set the unit to a timer switch function.
