Founded in 1928, its predecessor was the "Malipo Teacher Training Institute" and the Malipo County People's Government. In 1980, it was designated a provincial-level boarding national middle school. In 2011, it merged with the senior high school sections of Malipo No. 1 Middle School, Malipo National Middle School, Panlong Middle School, Douchidian Middle School, and Donggan Middle School, moving to its new campus, covering approximately 191,795.82 square meters (about 288 acres).
It is the only complete middle school in the border ethnic minority region, upholding the spirit of Laoshan (hard work, selfless dedication). In recent years, its college entrance examination results have significantly improved, with the number of students admitted to top-tier/specially controlled universities increasing for seven consecutive years, with the Hongyi Class (key class) achieving outstanding results. The school's swimming pool, Future World Swimming Pool (newly built in 2025), is the first high-standard constant-temperature swimming pool on a school campus in Wenshan Prefecture. It covers an area of approximately 2,712 square meters and is equipped with two 50-meter standard lanes (long course) and four 25-meter short course lanes. The indoor temperature is constant (available all year round), with 24-hour circulating purification and ozone disinfection. It also has professional lifesaving equipment, a spectator area, changing rooms, and shower rooms.
